Shri Rama and the Ramayana Katha has endured the test of time and continues to inspire Hindus even today. It is one itihasa which has led itself to multiple retellings. But questions galore.
What was Sri Ram like? What shaped his values and perspectives? What is Ram Rajya? What we the relations of Sri Ram and Seeta Maa? Why did he take the decisions he took? Why does the story of Sri Rama matter even today? To seek answers to all this questions and understand Sri Ram better, it is important to know what his contemporary Rishi, Valmiki ji has narrated to us in Valmiki Ramayana. While no time is a wrong time to study and learn from this itihasa of ours, what can be better than NOW as we wait for the Pran Pratisthana on 22nd January.
In this course, over 7 sessions we will go through 7 Kandas of Valmiki Ramayana, including Uttara Kanda as it is found in the critical edition as well as Geeta Press edition of Valmiki Ramayana. We will discuss the key events that have shaped the life of Sri Rama and Sita Maa and nuances of personality traits of all key characters as given in this Itihasa.
Every session will have enough time set aside for Questions and Answers.
