Srimad Bhagavad Gita is one of the most revered and sacred shastras for Hindus, or may I say THE most revered shastras for Hindus apart from the Vedas. While it comes in the Mahabharata, it has found its own individual appeal and very justifiably! About Bhagavad Gita it is said,
Srimad Bhagavad Gita, narrated by Shri Krishna himself, has the essence and wisdom of all Upanishads combined, the wisdom that helps one navigate through life, make appropriate decisions, find happiness and most of all find freedom. is timeless in its wisdom. There are no dos and don’ts. Dos and Don’ts are desh-kal dependent. Gita only seeks to explain the boundaries of human influence. Very lucidly, it suggests a way to help us make optimum decisions within those boundaries by demystifying the underlying reasons of our confusions and erroneous judgments. What we eventually do is left to your own Vivek buddhi with only an exhortation to develop that discretion by way of Gyan, Yoga and Bhakti.
In this course, over 8 sessions we will go through the context in which the Gita was narrated, the important shlokas and their meanings, and the key philosophy and teachings of Krishna that can be applied to our own lives taking various examples of our Itihasa and routine life.
Every session will have enough time set aside for Questions and Answers.
The expected outcome is that participants get an insight into what Gita is and how it can help them; and most of all encourages them to get deeper into the study of Gita and other Hindu shastras.
